Youth Work for All: Advancing Inclusive Integration

Youth Work for All: Advancing Inclusive Integration is a European partnership project between Youth Work Ireland, Mudem (Turkey), CDCD (Romania), KHF (Hungary), Youth Work Ireland Galway, and ERYICA. The project is funded by Erasmus+ and supported by the Irish national agency, Leargas.

Advancing Inclusive Integreation explores how youth work can help create more inclusive communities for young people who experience marginalisation. The project focuses on three groups of young people who often face barriers and exclusion

  •  Young people with disabilities
  • Young migrants and refugees
  • Young people living in rural or geographically isolated areas.

Through research, youth participation, and collaboration between youth organisations across Europe, the project aims to better understand the challenges these young people face and identify the youth work practices that make the greatest difference. Central to the project is the belief that youth work provides safe, supportive, and empowering spaces where young people can build relationships, develop confidence, have their voices heard, and participate fully in their communities.

Over the course of the project, partners will work with young people and youth workers to explore experiences of inclusion and exclusion, develop a practical model of youth work practice, create training resources for practitioners, and produce policy recommendations that strengthen support for marginalised young people.

The project will deliver an evidence review, a youth work model of practice, a training programme for youth workers and educators, a life trajectory study and documentary, and a set of policy recommendations. These outputs will help strengthen the connection between research, policy, and practice while providing practical tools that can be used by organisations across Europe.

At its heart, the project seeks to demonstrate the power of youth work as a proven and effective response to social exclusion. By listening to young people, building on existing good practice, and developing innovative approaches together, Youth Work for All aims to contribute to a Europe where every young person has the opportunity to participate, belong, and thrive.
