This Campaign has been developed by the Youth Network For Peace (YNP) Peace IV campaign group and this can be run as an activity for you as a youth leader to do with your group. The purpose of this campaign is to highlight and start a discussion about how we can act locally to support achieving positive change for our climate while thinking about the four sustainable development goals relating to this.
This topic was picked as part of our YNP Convention and the idea was developed by our youth led campaigns group with the support of the YNP campaigns lead worker.
Submissions will be shared on Youth Work Irelands social media channels with all YNP project partners tagged.
To get involved or submit to this campaign please contact us here by May 14th 2021.
Background to the campaign:
In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals (officially known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs).
More info here
For this campaign we are looking at four of the global goals around our climate which are;
- Affordable and clean energy (Goal 7)
- Climate Action (Goal 13)
- Life Below Water (Goal 14)
- Life On land (Goal 15)
Please see full details below and deadline for getting involved is May 14th 2021.
Below is a proposed way to run this campaign as an activity with your group:
- Step 1; Here is a short video to introduce your group to what the 17 Global Goals are.
- Step 2; Get your group to think about ways they can support the goals listed below by acting locally;
Affordable and clean energy (Goal 7)
Climate Action (Goal 13)
Life Below Water (Goal 14)
Life On land (Goal 15)
- Step 3; Ask each of your group to draw a picture with the wording of the Sustainable Development Goal they picked and to write down a way or ways they can help to achieve this goal in their own area / daily life. Ask them to take a picture and send this to you and compile and label these and send them to us here.
These will be shared on Youth Work Irelands social media channels with all YNP project partners tagged.
