Co Longford Band Galaxy Launch their EP Album
County Longford Youth Service in partnership with Music Generation Longford were delighted to announce the release of a new EP of cover songs on an album titled ‘INFINITY’ by the ‘Galaxy Band’.
These are a group of young Roma musicians that live in Longford and attend the youth service’s music group on a weekly basis for the past two years approximately.
The members of the band include Patrik Nistor 21, Miroslav Nistor 19, Dominik Sarissky 17 and Josef Balog aged 15.
The EP was launched in County Longford Youth Services on Friday 23rd September as part of Culture Night and in attendance was Music Generation, Liz Laverty, Maria Fox and Longford Leas Caithorleach Gerry Hagan and also huge attendance and support from Longford’s local Roma community.
Also on the day, Shannonside FM attended the launch and compiled a podcast with these young Roma musicians that was aired on Monday 26th September. The album will be available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music in the coming weeks.
