Our next youth practitioner symposium event, run in conjunction with the DCYA Quality Standards Training and Resources Task Group and takes place on Tuesday April 26th 2016 in Youth Work Ireland’s National Office from 11am-3pm.

With the historic centenary celebrations taking place this year there are many opportunities for us to reflect and consider how youth work practice has changed and evolved over the last one hundred years. This reflection provides us with an opportunity to consider many historical developments, themes and trends in Ireland in relation to youth work, such as identity, citizenship, immigration, diversity, political participation and equality. Our symposium will allow for the storytelling of practice and will look at how the two disciplines of theory and practice merged or have separated depending on the time.
