In conjunction with Youth Work Ireland Week, Youth Work Ireland Louth's Craóbh Rua Community Youth Project will be rehearsing for their short film in union with Sharp Focus and Calipo Theatre Company called 'Crossing the Divide'. The project brings four groups of young people aged 14-18 years from areas affected by the conflict, North & South of the Border, together with professional film makers on the production of four short films. Each film will be inspired by a particular event that took place during the conflict and each film will explore the impact this event had on participants' communities. The project will involve comprehensive research that will integrate and include the stories of victims and survivors. This will happen with the participation of two organisations, WAVE Trauma Centre and Healing Through Remembering, Belfast. Each group will work with their own film production team and eight facilitators will anchor the project and facilitate drama workshop with the groups exploring the relevant issues for the film. The young people will be involved in the process every step of the way and end up performing in their own films. The four participating youth group are: Shankill Women's Centre, Belfast, Monaghan Youth Theatre, Craobh Rua, Dundalk and Falls Womens Centre, Belfast |
